If you only go to one concert in your entire life make it Longwave and Ok Go. Ok Go headlined the show on Monday February 10th at Lee's Palace and certainly lived up to their reputation of being full of energy.

Before Ok Go came onstage, New York natives Longwave stole the spotlight. This is definitely the band to see live. Having never heard of this band before, I was unsure of what to expect, but they blew the entire audience away. The performance rekindled my love of music and the live show. Longwave just had an aura, which illustrated their honest appreciation for music and life in general.

Singer/guitarist Steve Schiltz has such a stage presence and was absolutely beautiful in the way he sang and carried the performance. Along with Schiltz, drummer Mike James, guitarist Shannon Ferguson, and bassist Dave Marchese brought together a truly harmonious set. The highlight of their performance came when they brought the drummer for Ok Go, Dan Konopka on stage. He assisted them by playing a drum and cymbal set during their last two songs.

After a brief intermission, it was time for Ok Go. Lees Palace was the perfect setting for an intimate show where the band could really connect with the crowd. They began the set with their song Return and ended on their foot stomping, hand clapping hit Get Over It. They played all the songs on their album with the exception of Shortly Before The End, as well as covers of The Beatles and The Smiths.

While watching Ok Go, my friends and I couldn't help but dance. The band had the entire crowd clapping, screaming, and dancing.  There was a smile planted on my face during the entire show and afterwards when I couldn't stop thinking about them. Their catchy music and lively performance made everyone there want so much more of them.

We were able to get more of singer Damien Kulash after the show while he was running through the crowd with notebooks. He wanted everyone to write down their emails for them to send information to. He was also there to happily pose for pictures and sign autographs.

The performances from both bands were truly inspiring and an experience you will never forget. My only advice is to make sure you see both bands in your area as soon as you can. Longwave and Ok Go are both headed for superstardom and in no time will be playing sold out stadium shows.
